The Kansas Home Rebates Program
The Kansas Home Rebates Program is designed to make the installation of energy-saving solutions such as heat pumps, appliances, electric panels, and insulation more affordable for Kansans. Contractors who participate in the Kansas Home Rebates Program take a whole-home approach to assessing and/or improving comfort at home, energy efficiency, and safety. Rather than focusing on a single problem—such as an inefficient heating and cooling system or drafty windows—participating contractors examine how improvements throughout a home can work together to make a homeowner’s entire living space more comfortable and energy-efficient. This program has the potential to reduce the energy burden for Kansans and provide meaningful support to hardworking families across the state.
Program-approved contractors play a crucial role in helping Kansas offer energy-efficient rebates to households throughout the state. This Program is open to single-family and multifamily properties, and each have specific eligibility criteria.Â

What Technical Skills
are Needed?
The Kansas Home Rebates Program is looking for contractors with strong technical skills in two areas. For the Home Efficiency Rebates (HER), contractors should be experienced in whole-home energy upgrades such as insulation, air sealing, HVAC improvements, and energy assessments. For the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR), the focus is on installing high-efficiency electric appliances, upgrading electrical panels and wiring, and ensuring proper ventilation and safety. Contractors must be familiar with energy efficiency standards and capable of delivering high-quality, code-compliant work.
